git-credential-forgejo

Git credential helper that reads application tokens stored by forgejo-cli (fj).

How it works

When Git asks for credentials for a host, git-credential-forgejo looks up the host in ~/.local/share/forgejo-cli/keys.json (or $XDG_DATA_HOME) and outputs the corresponding application token.

Install

Copy or symlink git-credential-forgejo into your PATH (e.g. ~/.local/bin/):

install -m 755 git-credential-forgejo ~/.local/bin/

Configure Git to use it for your Forgejo host:

git config --global credential.https://git.example.com.helper forgejo
